That is a nice combo, I realy like the 28-135 because it is such a practical range, but I use it with the A7RIII because it gives me the crop option. Didn’t get the FS7 because it was too heavy and for long term shoots I would probably need to use my easyrig, throwing big eng cameras around for almost 30 years doesn’t seem to be that great for your shoulders

Coming out with new cameras using the same auto focus technology that has failed and been criticized so much is a bad move. It’s like they are stubborn trying to prove it will work. It’s why we had to move from the gh5 to the a73. Got tired of the auto focus issues when we needed it too work. Just a bummer!

I’m hoping there will be the same (or very similar) adapters for L-Mount as RF-Mount by the time Panasonic launches these full frame cameras or their next cinema camera.

As Canon News points out, that means one of two things: The first possibility is that the EOS M line will never get a decent selection of fast, high-quality, lighter-weight lenses even if Canon is up to managing products for three active lens-mount lines. 

This will give you no way to up your photos without buying an entirely new camera, and renders any EOS M camera a really bad buy. Or it means Canon will obsolesce the EOS M in favor of a revised APS-C line with the RF (or compatible) mount. In which case, people who’ve already sunk money into the system are, well, you do the math.

Nor do I think Canon or Nikon has to duplicate Sony with different nameplates. I think they’re going to continue developing features in their current directions, emphasizing their own particular strengths–i.e., the areas where they already own patents and Sony doesn’t.

When I had switched from Canon to Sony I first purchased the MC-11 adaptor because of my Sigma 18-35. Although an update basically broke unofficial support for my Canon lenses. I had also went from APS-C to Full Frame so I still have a few EF-S lenses. The MC-11 adaptor doesn’t work on a lot of EF-S lenses. The 18-135 STM doesn’t even mount. The Tokina 11-16 only works in manual. In the end I returned it and sprung for the Metabones since you can use EF-S lenses and there is support for Canon lenses.

If the body had lower-priced matching lenses, I do think that starting off with the cheaper model rather than the pro would have been a smart move. If there are any issues, Canon has the chance to iron out the bugs before unleashing it on more demanding pros. It also gives the camera a chance to build up some word-of-mouth buzz (or not) before the consumer holiday shopping season starts, though it also gives Nikon a chance to see how well its higher price is received before announcing the price of the Z6.
