I’m curious how many people excited by this camera have shot FF video for moving subjects? To me, FF is a bad decision for 85% of shoots that would be using a mirrorless for video, it’s a step backwards to the 5D MKII “everything out of focus except one eye” aesthetic of 10 year ago.

It also has multiple internal moving parts which have to be inlet for, with tolerances that have to be kept tight to insure proper lockup with repeated use. If you consider the cost of a US machine shop made compensator or brake, I think the price is fairly accurate when you account for the extra machining and parts fitting required to make one of the adapters. It is a purpose driven/Mission specific accessory and a useful one at that, just not one that everyone will want to pay for based on their own personal needs.

The new pipe runs parallel to the woodstave penstocks, which were built in place by Homestake crews during the hydroelectric plant’s construction in the early 1900s. These would be collapsed in place, with a few sections to be removed and salvaged after the new pipe is tied in. 

The no articulated screen is a bummer and at the same time weird since Panasonic has been known and praised for that, do people talk about some kind of “articulated gate” regarding Panasonic articulated screen breaking to justify moving away from it? The Spearfish City Council Monday approved change order 3 for the project, an increase of $34,965.96, bringing the total cost to $747,859.19, with a new completion date of Jan. 31. The additional work includes: 464 square-feet of reinforced concrete walls at Forebay for $24,531.22; 480 lineal feet of 18-inch deep trenching and backfill for new electrical and propane lines to the standpipe for $4,601.43; and a 48-inch flange adaptor for $5,833.31. The change order would be funded out of the hydro fund.
