Another CCA, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, is “moving ahead with a plan to absorb an estimated $25 million in added fees that would otherwise fall on the agency’s CleanPowerSF energy customers next year,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported. If true, it also means that we may finally get much better low-light and higher-resolution images from Panasonic. Micro Four Thirds models are great in tons of ways — system size is one of the biggest — but low-light quality has never matched that of full-frame or even APS-C models, mostly because of the smaller sensor size, which has also limited the maximum resolution — it currently tops out at 20 or so megapixels.

They certainly can, and I would be one of the Canon fan boys to switch. Corporations selling legacy products typically are super protective of their products and accessories. I assume third party lens manufactures are the reason that Nikon wouldn’t want to give out their secret sauce. It’s just like with refrigerators, the most profit comes from selling a dollar charcoal filter for 50 bucks 20 times over the life of the refrigerator.

So in reality, that means that the likes Sony and Fujifilm are ahead of Canon and Nikon by about five years in their Research and Development for high-end mirrorless systems currently on the market. So surely, when Canon and Nikon do finally release a high-end, full-frame mirrorless system to compete with the current market leaders, it won’t just be something similar to what’s already available now with other brands? Surely it has to be something significantly better?
