It’s difficult to find a bad sound in the Utility Knife. The only real downside, if you can even call it that, is a necessary trade-off for the pedal’s simplicity—specifically a lack of presets that could find you scrambling to re-adjust effects in performance. Again, this isn’t a negative. If it’s presets you want, you’ve probably looked elsewhere. And if it’s simplicity you crave, then presets may be exactly the thing you look to avoid. But it’s food for thought if you imagine using the full breadth of Southhampton’s many excellent sounds in a live context.

When the camera focuses the image ON the sensor, how could the adapter make ANY difference in getting a sharp picture? I think the adapter would have to be VERY poorly manufactured to have any effect… Hard to imagine.

These days I shoot almost everything with the A7RIII and don’t recognise any of these ‘problems’? With the 5DII we had pretty terrible high ISO so everybody got their F1.4 lens out in low light, it was never a problem for me to keep things in focus? That’s going to be the most difficult part, reverse engineering the communication for the new serial bus. Nikon will probably avoid giving out that information. The newer the cameras become, the more difficult it’ll be to reverse engineer these lens communications, just like with tuning for modern cars.
