Assembling grooved couplings does not require heat or flame nor does it produce fumes, eliminating hazards to personnel and property during installation and maintenance. Hot works permits, fire watches, confined space welding procedures and X-ray inspection of joints are not required. Furthermore, the joining process mitigates environmental factors such as inclement weather conditions that complicate welding.

Multi-pump drives are common sight in mobile hydraulic systems. These drives consist of a gear drive inside a bell housing that connects to a gasoline or diesel engine. The opposite side contains one or more standard 2- or 4-bolt flanges for mounting hydraulic pumps. This configuration provides several benefits. For one, two or more identical pumps can be connected to provide nearly identical hydraulic output flow from each. While the 24-105mm f4L isn’t slated to ship standalone until December — for $1,100 — given that it’s part of the launch kit that lens will obviously be available earlier.  It incorporates Canon’s next-generation Nano USM motor.

My comment was meant about the manufacturers that need to keep up with the latest technology. There are always exceptions. Some people still shoot film cameras.
