With Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma teaming up, it’s clear that they are serious about trying to get a very strong foothold in the mirrorless camera market. Sony has dominated the mirrorless market for so long, and with Nikon and Canon choosing to go it alone, leveraging the technologies from three companies makes a lot of sense. Is it a case of too little too late? That’s a hard question to answer. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. If these new Panasonic cameras can outperform their competition they may well force current Sony users to switch over.

The electronic viewfinder features a resolution of 3.69 million dots and provides an edge-to-edge clear, natural view with minimal aberrations. It has a frame coverage of approximately 100%, a magnification of 0.8x, and a 37-degree diagonal viewing angle. On the EVF is a fluorine coating that repels dirt.

As for the cost, the adapter is machined out of 4140 steel which is quite harder to work with than the Aluminum that our AR’s are made out of. It also has multiple internal moving parts which have to be inlet for, with tolerances that have to be kept tight to insure proper lockup with repeated use. If you consider the cost of a US machine shop made compensator or brake, I think the price is fairly accurate when you account for the extra machining and parts fitting required to make one of the adapters. It is a purpose driven/Mission specific accessory and a useful one at that, just not one that everyone will want to pay for based on their own personal needs.

“This is where Canon could really have an advantage,” writes Canon Rumors. “If they can somehow make the 130 million or so EF lenses compatible with a full frame mirrorless without an adaptor, they won’t have a hard time getting Canon DSLR shooters to add a full frame mirrorless to their kit.”

As Canon News points out, that means one of two things: The first possibility is that the EOS M line will never get a decent selection of fast, high-quality, lighter-weight lenses even if Canon is up to managing products for three active lens-mount lines.

Block by block, residents have seen excavation crews descend on their neighborhoods with earth-moving equipment to dig up the pipes. The city had been slow to fix the sidewalks and yards as part of the excavation but contends it is making headway.

Codenamed the YN450, Yongnuo has listed some of its new camera’s features on its Facebook page. The list includes Android 7.1 Nougat as its operating system, built-in 4G connectivity and support for Canon’s EF lenses.
