To recap, full-frame sensors are signficantly larger than the Four Thirds sensors in Panasonic and Olympus cameras, with a 3:2 aspect ratio compared to the smaller’s 4:3. Note that the Four Thirds sensor size is distinct from the Micro Four Thirds mount (despite how I labeled the graphic below).

But there won’t be an adapter for the EOS M EF-M-mount lenses. The RF mount design has a 20mm flange distance — the distance between the sensor and the mount — while Canon’s APS-C mirrorless EOS M models have an 18mm flange distance. That leaves only 2mm (0.08 inches) for an EF-M to RF adapter, which is nothing to cry over, but less than zero for an RF to EF-M.

I am not a technical person but I have read on multiple sites that lenses made for d-slrs won’t function that well directly on a mirrorless body. It had something to do with the focussing systems.

Thanks for the link. Based on this information it doesn’t really seem like that would be the main driving force for a new lens mount, but since Nikon has so many different AF variations of their F-mount, it makes sense to me that they would feel the need for a new design going forward. At some point you have to just move on. Canon users went through this when they went from FD to EF mount.

The top layout is completely new for Canon, with an electronic mode dial and a vertical front dial. 

Could be fun in Olympus and Fuji join the L-mount with their FF cameras, maybe even something as crazy as dji going fullframe? Also hoping for a APS-C and MFt crop mode with perhaps high framerates, great for shooting surfing. Shame e-mount can’t be adapted to L-mount, the main reason I find this camera interesting is because Panasonic was the one giving us higher bitrates, 422 10bit would be very welcome especially if their XLR adapter works on this camera.

Among the Yongnuo YN450’s other assets is a large five-inch 1080p multi-touch rear display. There will also be 3GB of system memory and 32GB of on-board storage. If 32GB isn’t enough, Yongnuo says it can be expanded by another 32GB, although no specific mention has been made of an additional microSD slot.

Nikon says the new lens mount will also allow its Z mount to be future proof, allowing for cameras with higher and higher resolutions and optics with greater and greater sharpness.
