But there won’t be an adapter for the EOS M EF-M-mount lenses. The RF mount design has a 20mm flange distance — the distance between the sensor and the mount — while Canon’s APS-C mirrorless EOS M models have an 18mm flange distance. That leaves only 2mm (0.08 inches) for an EF-M to RF adapter, which is nothing to cry over, but less than zero for an RF to EF-M.

A granulated activated carbon (GAC) filtration system needed to be installed for one of the wells. One of the water mains would need to be detoured into the GAC filter and then rerouted back to the water main. The new piping would be restrained, however, and standard methods of restraint for this kind of project would be time-consuming and costly with pipe rodding reinforcement. The option of using mechanical joints would mean that specialty piping of different sizes would need to be installed, further driving up costs.

So I stuck with Canon then…but only because there wasn’t a really viable option, and Canon took a huge leap over Nikon–that’s when you started seeing all those white lenses on sports sidelines.

The camera features a 45.7-megapixel backside-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor with a native ISO of 64-25,600. It has an EXPEED 6 image processor that supports 9fps continuous shooting.

To install the GAC while minimizing costs due to speciality piping, restraint rodding and reducing worker time in the ditch, Moore decided to use a series of six Hymax Grip flange adaptors to restrain the pipes directing water through the GAC. These flange adaptors could be connected to straight-end pipes with the flange end connecting to another flanged pipe. No rodding would be required, nor specialty piping of different sizes. The flange adaptor provided several advantages for Moore.

You’d imagine the likes of Sony and Fujifilm and Olympus etc are already researching and designing upgrades for their next release. So if Canon couldn’t give me an irresistible reason to remain loyal (such as full integration of legacy lenses), then I’d be heavily tempted to go to a system that already has 1,000s of users and advocates and proof of worth, rather than hope that Canon’s first iteration was a blinding success (albeit potentially without use of my legacy lenses).

Awww, Yet more proof of that below 30 IQ. I guess I didn’t dumb the comment down enough. Too bad I already figured you would pull the run away tactic. Funny how cowards always try the “Not worth my time” excuse.

The Z mount uses a large 55mm inner diameter and a 16mm flange focal distance that allow for apertures as fast as f/0.95 and a slim body design. It also opens the door to other lens properties that weren’t previously possible with Nikon’s F mount.

No word on autofocus? I think autofocus (stills AND video) might be the big make-or-break feature for this camera, as that’s where Canon and Sony have been making the most rapid progress. It’s hard for people to take a big step back from dual-pixel autofocus, even with cost-savings, 10bit 4:2:2, 4K 60p, better sensor etc. to make up for it.
