However, it’s not necessarily a full-frame sensor, which harkens back to the size of a frame of 35mm film. It could be a new, larger-size Four Thirds sensor that would encompass full-frame so you could use those lenses with an adapter using some kind of multiaspect mode.

Yes, many photographers use FullFrame lenses on crop sensors, for two reasons: longer focal lenses and better lenses quality build. The APSC lenses selection is limited, and deserve better.

The EOS R has drawn a certain amount of criticism for its 1.7x sensor crop factor in its 4K movie mode, but this does correspond well with the Super 35 format used by Canon’s own Cinema EOS cameras and other movie equipment.

Of course, the rest I am going to write is conjecture but it wouldn’t surprise me if they released several MILCs (2 for instance) of which one was severely handicapped when using an adapter and the most expensive model will probably work well with an adapter. I am convinced that they won’t go balls out but will give the bare minimum.
