You know, I was thinking what would be the ultimate with this new S-Series. With the L-Mount Alliance in place, wouldn’t it have been great if Panasonic pulled off another strategic partnership with, say, Kodak. With Fuji and it’s digitized film simulations, it would’ve been spectacular to have a Kodak film stock in the -in-camera settings. Just dreaming, i guess. Kodak may as well, they’re out of the camera game for the most part.

Yes I’ve written many times that when you factor in adapters and lenses and filters and filter holders added to bodies, there really isn’t much difference in size/weight/bulk between DSLR/mirrorless. You raise many valid points and I hope the engineers at Canon (and Nikon) don’t go the easy route and opt just for adapters.

Canon’s EF->RF adaptor is native, with full electronics. Other manufacturers – if they ever get around to emulating the electronics – would have to reverse engineer it, like Metabones does.

At this stage, details are still fairly sparse and there is no full list of specifications and features available.

That leaves only 2mm (0.08 inches) for an EF-M to RF adapter, which is nothing to cry over, but less than zero for an RF to EF-M.
